A verified Twitter handle Ali Keskin shared an edited video of protest by the supporters of Gurmeet Ram Rahim to show Indian soldiers massacring women and children in Kashmir.
A Twitter user Ali Keskin tweeted a video to show how Indian soldiers are massacring women and children in Kashmir. His tweet reads "They beat women, children. The world is quite! India is massacring. Turkish people will not remain silent in this massacre!"
The tweet has received more than 780 likes and 470 retweets. After that, he deleted his tweet. But you can see the video shared by him here:
The same video is also shared by the page name Peaceful World with a Pikstagram hashtag on Instagram with a caption that "Dear Muslim brothers and sisters, this is the picture of today's Muslims in Kashmir. Please spread this news as much as you can to prevent this crime. The demons are showing their true faces. Please be the voice of our Muslim brothers and sisters". (Roughly translated from Urdu)
In research, we found the video on Youtube which was published by Aditya Kashyap on 6 September 2017 with a caption "Lathi Charge in Baba Ram Rahim ke Logo Par" which can be translated to "Lathi charge on Baba Ram Rahim supporters".
Here is a comparison of keyframes from both the video.
This proves that the video has no relation to Kashmir. The voice has been added in the video with the help of an app Viva Video.
Conclusion: The viral video which has been shared to show Indian soldiers massacring women and children in Kashmir is actually from Haryana which was recorded during Gurmeet Ram Rahim's protest. The viral video has been edited by adding a Voiceover to spread a rumor. No such incident has happened in Kashmir.
This is not the first time when Ali Keskin has shared fake news. Earlier, he tweeted 11 years old picture to show how Indian soldiers are massacring Muslims in Kashmir. However, the picture was of a slain terrorist who was shot down by CRPF troops in 2008.
